A Brief Friday Anecdote, Pt. 2

One of the highlights of the Super Bowl XLVIII commercials was definitely Budweiser’s “Puppy Love” ad. It’s absolutely adorable, and no matter how many times I watched it before the Super Bowl actually aired, I still teared up watching it on T.V. during the game.

I recently discovered that it does have its downside, though. Yesterday, I was driving home from work, and the song used in the commercial, “Let Her Go” by Passenger, came on the radio. It took everything I had not to burst into tears, and I spent the rest of the drive home dabbing my eyes so I wouldn’t get into an accident because of my impaired vision.

It also made me wonder: Do cities have a higher frequency of car accidents caused by crying people around the time that song hits the airwaves? Because that may be an unintended side effect of this campaign.
